At UC Davis, Alex focused on nutrient cycling in soil systems, with a special interest in mycorrhizal fungi’s role in perennial agriculture and forestry applications. This passion for dynamic farming systems extended into niche truffle farming, where Alex studied under world-renowned mycologists to hone truffle cultivation techniques and deepen his understanding of nutrient cycling. Alex also served on the Psychedelic Plants and Fungi and Botanical Raw Materials committees at the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), shaping industry testing standards for functional mushrooms.
